DANNY KEMP
Daniel (Danny) Kemp (SHS Class of 1997). Danny is one of the great middle and
distance runners in Sisters High School history. In cross-country, Danny was the
Capital Conference champion and was named All-State three times, finishing sixth,
fourth, and third. On the track, Danny also won multiple Capital Conference
championships, and was named All-State twice for his outstanding efforts at 3000
meters, finishing second and third. He also was extremely versatile - Danny broke
the SHS school records in the 5K, the 3K, and the 1500-meter races, and left SHS
with the second best 800-meter time. Danny also found time at SHS to letter in
basketball and wrestling. For his efforts, Danny was named SHS Athlete of the
Year for 1996-1997. After SHS, Danny ran cross-country and track at Utah Valley
State College where he set the school record in the 1500 and was named cross-
country team captain. He finished fifth at the National Junior College track
championships in the 1500 in 2000 and was named to the National Junior College
Academic All-American Team. Danny began his professional career in sales,
marketing, and management, and has excelled as a commercial real estate broker
and shareholder with Compass Commercial Real Estate Services in Bend. He has
been a board member with the Risk Management Association along with many
other professional and community affiliations, and has been recognized with
multiple awards for his commercial real estate efforts, including top producer,
outstanding achievement and performance, and a software innovation award for his
lead in creating and developing Compass Commercial’s proprietary client
management software.
