JENNY BOSWELL
Jenny Boswell is a 2006 graduate of Sisters High School. “As a coach, you only get
a Jenny Boswell once or twice in a career, says one of her former coaches. Jenny
was an all-around athlete, but performed perhaps most brilliantly on the track and
on the basketball court, finishing as SHS Athlete of the Year for 2005 and 2006. On
the basketball court, Jenny was the SHS leading scorer for 2005 and 2006. She was
first team all-league for 2005 and 2006, and honorable mention all-state for 2006,
and then finished her career as the SHS all-time leading scorer. On the track,
Jenny was the 2005 and 2006 state champion in the 100m high hurdles and the
300m low hurdles (breaking the state meet record in the 100m HH). Her 1600m
relay team also finished 6
th
. Jenny was recruited out of SHS for both her basketball
and track skills. She ultimately attended the University of Nevada Reno on a track
scholarship, and excelled as a multi-event athlete in the 800m, high jump, long
jump, shot put, javelin, and pentathlon. She graduated from UNR in 2010 and was
the recipient of numerous awards, including the 2010 All-American Strength &
Conditioning Award (given to only 232 college athletes that year). She also was
outstanding in the classroom, being named to the 2010 Western Athletic
Conference All-Academic Team. As her college coach noted, “Jenny is a program
girl: self-motivated, energetic, and disciplined, the ideal athlete to work with and
have around.”
